Silktones at the Tanks & Botanical Gardens Precinct

Snapped with Silktones> Cairns Regional Council Profile

The Sunday after Anzac Day and it was the first market day for the year held at the Tanks and Botanical Gardens Precinct off Collins Street, Edgehill. The weather really turned on for Cairns, such a fabulous day and what a fabulous place for a market and what a fabulous place to be able to hang out and play music. It's what we love doing. Such an enjoyable gig from beginning to end. Thanks to Cairns Regional Council for engaging us to do this gig. Also provided by the Cairns Regional Council was the jumping castle that was well utilised by many children at the market day.

Throughout the four (4) hour gig people floated in and out and around the space, stopping to check out the stalls, Admiring fanwith Silktonesgrabbing a bite to eat, sitting down for a while wherever a place could be found, listening in to the music. Wonderful to see the market flow now from the Tanks through to the Botanical Gardens.

We loved that many familiar faces dropped by to say hello. On stage we were joined by some fabulous young dancers (and we thought we were the entertainers) and there were requests for The Wiggles which we intend to add to our repertoire for next time.

Joined by a group of tourists from China the opportunity was grabbed to snap up a photo or two with us, the local music makers on the day.
