An informal session at TAFE North, Cairns organised with Mark Fuchilli on 27th July at 11.30am took place where information about the conference, my experience there and the funding I was provided with to get me there was shared with the cohort of students who were studying music and songwriting there. Sharing my experience with the students I was able to let them know the reasons why I chose to attend that particular conference and the value that the program held for me to be able to network with people, share my songs, gain new insights from facilitated workshops conducted by people who came with a wealth of industry experience, to participating in co-writing sessions, publisher pitching sessions and other associated activities.

I was able to let the students know what I needed to do to gain RADF support to receive the grant letting them know that this is something that could be available to them also as artsworkers in this region. It was noted that another funding program runs on the Tablelands as well.

Students were given the opportunity to ask questions and a handout was provided with relevant weblinks and useful resources referenced. It was a receptive audience and I shared two of my original songs before students at the college performed their songs, with a process that revealed constructive comments made to students by students and teachers regarding their performances. It was a pleasure to be there for this part of their performance afternoon. Thank you to teachers - Mark, Mick and Deb and students for having me along for this time of sharing.
