It was RUOK Day and it struck me as a relevant time to take my song, "It's Ok to Not Be Ok" into ABC Radio to ask if it could get some airplay in lead up to World Mental Health Day on 10th October. I met Bluey and Sarah there at the desk and they invited me in for an interview with them that following Saturday on their Morning Breakfast Show to talk about the song and to talk a little about mental health and mental well being.

Sarah read out the Winnie The Pooh caption that was part of the original inspiration for writing this song with Alan Roy Scott.

Being able to talk about mental health is important in breaking down the stigma that can at times be associated with it. We all have mental health and maintaining our wellbeing requires us to check in on ourselves often.

Mental wellbeing, emotional wellbeing and spiritual wellbeing are as important as our physical wellbeing every single day.

It is hoped that the song can be used in any way possible to raise awareness around mental health and wellbeing to reassure that it is Ok to Not be Ok, honouring feelings and recognising this normality in authenticly living our lives.

While this song had a soft release in June this year, I've held it close to my chest awaiting the time that seemed right to offer it for broader audience.

According to Queensland Mental Health Commission Website, Queensland Mental Health Week takes place in the week of World Mental Health Day on 10 October.
In 2019, the week will be celebrated from Saturday 5 October to Sunday 13 October.
