Tablelands Folk Festival - 2021

Shirley Lynn - Tablelands Folk FestivalAnother successful year for the Tablelands Folk festival in the midst of continued risk and uncertainty. Ongoing lockdowns in Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland border closures brought about cancellation and rescheduling of some performers with some attendees not able to make it. The hunger for live entertainment saw the festival sold out prior to its commencement and alive again with freedom to dance and interconnect with a sense of liberation instead of regulation.

The festival was opened by President, Mick Hodgkins and welcome to country by Dulgabarra Yidinji elder - Uncle Laurie Padmore setting the scene for a festival with a full weekend of performances, workshops and special events. An event not to miss. It's annual and falls on the fourth Weekend in October to coincide with the Yungaburra Markets.

Festival Song Circle:
For the fifth year running, the Festival Song Circle celebrated the amazing talent of selected songwriters at this year's festival. This year's event held at Quincan Cafe on Sunday morning brought together the talent of Jeremiah Johnson, Jeanette Wormald, Tullarah and Gar MacLeman in round robin style.
