Tablelands Folk Festival 2014

Tablelands Folk Festival - SilktonesThe Tablelands Folk Festival has now been going for 34 years. It first began in Herberton and in the 25th year of the festival a concert was held in Herberton to commemorate its commencement there. Since that time, the Herberton concert has perpetuated on the Thursday night before the festivities in Yungaburra hmarking the start of the festival.

This year Blue Tonic were the final act of the night performing alongside festival headliners Waz e James and Friends, Bruce Watson and Formidable Vegetable Sound System. Featuring the multiple songwriters in the band an all originals set was played flowing into overtime with a selection of covers for the attendees wanting more... Blue Tonic loved being a part of this concert night in Herberton

The weather was supurb for this year's festival with Saturday night a sell out. The Festival provided non-stop music on multiple stages over the weekend with local and interstate artists. Festival favourites also included the Songwriting competition, Poets Brekky, free Children's Festival & Parade, Wellbeing Fair, Market Stalls, & the famous Pub Verandah jams sessions with a wide range of music to suit all tastes.

Leading up to the festival this year, Silktones were invited on two occasions to feature in the member showcase. In March and August we were joined by Sara Hughes and in the session in March we were joined also by Graham Lees. Always a great time.
