Race For A Cure> Yorkeys Knob Community

Each year Yorkey's Knob Community celebrates the Festival of the Knob, a wonderful community event at Yorkeys Knob in Cairns.

Over the past few years due to the association of Pete Grayson within his own home community, Blue Tonic have been invited to play at the festival. Well we absolutely love being able to put ourselves forward to play at this great community event. It's always a fun time.

The event features activities for all the family with food, bric-a-brac, produce, craft, collectables, vintage clothing stalls, a monster raffle, novelties and a stage with live entertainement throughout the duration of the event.
Race For A Cure

Each year the occasion draws forth the announcement of the King and Queen of the Knob - a much celebrated event in the community.

A highlight includes the arrival or "Yorkey" with gifts for the children this day celebrating the colourful life of early settler George 'Yorkey' Lawson, the Yorkshireman, after whom this beachside suburb of Yorkeys Knob was named.

This year, Blue Tonic joined Jim Cadman along with Rachel Bradley as he performed the song he wrote called "Yorkey King of the Coral Sea" .
