Shirl has been awarded Regional Arts Development Funding (RADF) enabling her to engage Cairns creative film maker, Kyle Wilson from Little Earth Productions to produce a music video for her song, "My Kind of Paradise."

A successful application -Shirl and Kyle look over the paperwork to get the project underway. Shirl attended the presentation ceremony along with other successful recipients at the Botanical Gardens Information Centre, Edgehill.

Music Video Project
The project rationale:

  1. Create a music video clip for the song "My Kind Of Paradise" – drawing on visual images from our North Queensland locality.
  2. Promote and market the video as a cultural expression of artistic culture from our North Queensland locality.

    This project will engage the skills of local professionals  including:
    • Kyle Wilson - a creative, young Cairns film maker from Little Earth Productions.  Kyle will shoot, direct, edit and master the music video to a suitable format for new media.
      • Kyle has recently achieved international acclaim as the winner of multiple awards at Filmapalooza, Hollywood.
    • Shirley Lynn - "Shirl" is an emerging singer songwriter who performs in the local region - solo as "Shirl" in the duo "Silktones" and in the band "Blue Tonic".
      • Shirl's song "My Kind of Paradise" was selected as the 2013 Song of Carnivale. Shirl released her debut CD at the end of 2012 called: "It's About Time".
